Meet Ms. Ayrin Francis, an enthusiastic and fervent advocate for sensory integration therapy as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Ayrin firmly believes in the transformative power of sensory integration therapy and its profound impact on individuals’ lives. She is also a proponent of neurodiversity inclusion, advocating for the acceptance and accommodation of individuals with diverse neurological conditions. She collaborates with a team of professionals, including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, behaviour therapists, and special educators, to ensure comprehensive treatment for her clients. Additionally, she emphasises the importance of continuous learning and seeks opportunities to increase her knowledge, broaden the scope of her services, and integrate music or sound therapy concepts such as TLP (an advanced brain technology that is a listening therapy programme), OPT (oral placement therapy), and PROMPTS for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets.
She is enthusiastic about attending various seminars and conferences on diverse topics, including “Mastering Stuttering: A Comprehensive Seminar on Stuttering Assessment and Management”, “Autism Summit”, “Neuroimaging techniques and their interpretations”, and “Role of an SLP Head and Neck Cancer Rehabilitation”, etc. Furthermore, Ayrin has given a presentation at a conference on “Acquired Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder Post-Enteric Fever” during her coursework. She has also engaged in volunteer work as a volunteer manager with Bangalore-based non-governmental organisations that focus on education and general awareness for young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Her dedication extends to facilitating activity-based learning and organizing events for students at different schools as a part of the organization. As a passionate SLP, she is committed to leveraging her expertise to empower her clients and facilitate their journey towards improved communication and overall well-being.
